This past weekend was a huge MMA/
UFC fight between two classy ladies…
Holy Holms (now former champion) and the
challenger Misha Tate (now new champion).
^^^you don’t have to be a UFC fan to appreciate what
I’m about to share with you!
Ok, so,
Holy, was the favorite to win, but she lost.
After months and months of prep, to go in
and lose would be a hard pill to swallow
for anyone out there!
And she lost in a way that most MEN
would not dare too.
She got choked unconscious. Most people
would ‘tap’ in that situation, but not Holy!
^^^She is OK, just in case you’re worried!
And in her post fight press conference
when she was asked by a reporter ‘how do you feel
after such a devastating loss, what is next
for you?’
Do you know what she said?
Holy responded with:
I can’t wait to get back into the gym first
thing tomorrow morning and improve myself!
This can only make me better, I now know where
there are ‘holes’ in my game!
Wow, what a response, right!?
Most athletes take time off after such
experiences and some even quit.
And that’s why they are not champions.
Holy will be back and she’ll be even better
because of this loss!
>>>>Now think about how you react
to your personal losses when you step
on the scale and the numbers don’t drop!
Do you get, upset?
Do you get down on yourself?
Do you make excuses?
Or do you see this as an opportunity to
improve?
How about when you get off track with
your meal plan, do you say to yourself,
this is too hard, or, there is room for improvement?
What if instead of getting frustrated you
said, yeah I see that I could improve in this area and
I could be better in that area?
That way you’re not letting a single ‘slip up’ derail you.
Instead you see more clearly what you need to work on
and improve in order to finally lose weight!
Is it your portion control – that needs work?
Is it your out of control snacking – that needs work?
Is it your workouts – that need work?
Maybe it’s your attitude – that needs to be improved?
You see, instead of being so negative anytime you screw up,
learn from HOLY, get back to it and improve upon it!
A single mistake (a missed meal or a slight gain in weight)
is not a way out for you to quit, it’s an opportunity
to improve an area which you need to get better at.
And results come from improving in those areas, not from
avoiding them.
This is how champions are made and this is how
people lose weight and keep it off – they learn
from their mistakes.
Stay positive, get focused and look for ways to
improve in those areas that challenge you the
most today!
Let’s go CHAMP!
